This character is a combination of 弗 a Chinese-only character meaning “not,” and 貝 shell/money. 弗 originally meant “undo/disperse,” so together with 貝, it gives “disperse money until none is left,” or, “spend.”

Also, please be aware that I wrote this character incorrectly. As shown here, the two vertical lines in 弗 are meant to extend through and not stop the way I’ve shown here. When I made this card I had never written this character before and misinterpreted the text I was copying from. I don’t have any way of fixing it now, sorry!
